Journalist Hannah Keijzer speaks weekly with people about an heirloom they received from a deceased loved one. The purpose of the section series in the Nederlands Dagblad is to show that heirlooms carry relevance for the living. After contact with Our Heritage founder & project manager Fausa S. Abdul, there will also be a few of our team and participants in the section!
Recipes and Cookbook. At Fausia it was an old family cookbook, from which she does not know from which ancestor it comes. What Fausia's piece shows is that culture is transmitted to the next generations and is not something that exists 'statically': culture needs care and maintenance.
